Wellness Wednesday: Sweet Treats to Beat the Heat

Try saying that five times fast.  It seems that Mother Nature has finally realized it’s summer. With the temperatures climbing, it’s only natural to seek out the cool, the refreshing and the delicious. But what about your nutrition goals, you say?  Don’t you worry fam, I got you covered.  Just because you want a little cool deliciousness does not mean you also have to compromise your nutrition goals. It just means you have to think a little outside of the box. Here are a few treats that are not only delicious, but adaptable to different palates, low in fat and generally healthier for you than your average pint of Häagen Dazs or bottle of Coca Cola. Banana “Nice” Cream-

This is dead simple, and only requires a blender and some frozen bananas at its base. Add different frozen fruits, chopped nuts or cocoa powder to give it an easy flavor tweak.
