Take Pride Tuesday: Suns Out, Guns Out!

Summer is one of my favorite times of year because there are so many opportunities to create outdoor activities to stay active. There's beach picnics and backyard barbecues, bike rides, walks in the park and running down the street to catch the ice-cream truck; for my kids, of course.

We all know by now that a healthy lifestyle is a year-round thing, but for those summer procrastinators who get too busy to workout, just remember that you didn't work hard all winter to hit the reset button during crunch time. The pressure to show off your summer bod is depending on your consistency; bathing suits, shorts, tanks and the crop top trend that just won't go away.

While you may tell yourself that keeping up your routine can be done at home, are you really going to hold yourself accountable?

  I didn't think so either.

The beauty of summer is about family bonding, so make sure you continue your training by finding fun ways to incorporate fitness into your vacations and summer outings. If you have kids, this is a great opportunity to teach them the value of staying active.

Hydration can also be an issue with increased activities in the heat and those delicious adult beverages that you think are quenching your thirst.  Losing vital electrolytes and salt can disrupt the delicate balance, so if you're like me and find it difficult to stay hydrated, make sure to speak with our onsite nutritionist, Lauren, to find out the do's and don't to keeping your hydration game on point.

If you want to be the talk of the family outings, keep up with your training routines! In the meantime, I'll leave you with a little summer motivation:
