Portion Control: Size Matters

“Size matters” 

Eating your feelings, cleaning your plate when you’re full, finishing the bowl of popcorn at a movie. We’ve all been there.  When we’re given a container of anything… be it a container of ice cream or a bucket of popcorn, we tend to think of it as a portion. These are extreme examples, of course, but even things like soft drink cans be confusing as they often contain more than one portion.  So how much is a portion? That depends on what it is.  One portion of starch is a 1/2 c., One serving of meat? 3oz. Confused? We don’t blame you. Use this convenient serving size chart to help you navigate the nutrition waters.
