Need more convincing to get moving?
Meet Allison Guzowski.
Allison has been an Account Manager for a vehicle fleet management company for the past 10 years, 8 of which have been in the Queens office. She works closely with non-profit organizations and for-profit companies as a consultant for the financial outlook, planning and replacements on the vehicles that are used in their day to day business.
Allison is a born and bred New Yorker who has been living in Astoria for the last 7 years. When she is not working, you can find her getting on a plane to an international destination, hopping around the boroughs for happy hours and dinners with her boyfriend and friends, heading to concerts, driving to SI to visit family or breaking a sweat at ILP.
Aside from continuously being a top performer in her company professionally, Allison’s main goal is to live a full and happy life … which being, and staying, healthy and strong are key factors for.
Allison chose to join the Iron Lion LP Team Pride about 2 years ago. She has always been active and had a gym membership, but never really felt like she was getting stronger or meeting her weight or measurement goals. She tried to follow workouts in magazines or on tapes, but it always felt redundant and ineffective. She tried do to personal training for a few years and with different trainers … but something was always missing … friendly competition and comradery.
By joining Team Pride at ILP she has been able to meet, learn from and workout with trainers and members to who are like herself. Allison comments on the environment, “…members that push each other to work harder because they are all working together towards their own unique goals … trainers that will teach you correct form and cheer you on to finish that last set of reps when you feel like you have no power left … and a group, that no matter how you are feeling when you arrive at the class, will always leave you with a natural high feeling, and feeling of accomplishment.”
Never did she think that miles on the elliptical weekly would be replaced by a few days a week with deadlifting, kettle bells, and ropes. “These are the smart metabolic workouts that have helped me achieve and maintain my weight and measurement goals, allowing me to continue a healthy and strong lifestyle,” Allison said. By being a part of the ILP family, she works hard and puts in 100% (at the office and at the gym) which allows her to play hard and enjoy all the things life and this city has to offer. She achieved her goal last year of running in two half marathons, and is currently working towards a goal of the five-borough bike tour in 2018.
Allison has the go getter mentality and so all she needed was the right environment to help her find that inner joy. We at Iron Lion can’t wait to see you cross the finish line of the 2018 bike tour! You must want to do it --- you have to push yourself to excel so you can achieve your own personal joy. Keep it up Allison! Your personality and work ethic inspire and bring us joy each and every time you step into the Den.
